Like you all know or must have read somewhere else, scabies is an infestation of tiny parasitic mites and can affect any part of a person's skin, including on the penis. The mites spread by close, prolonged skin-to-skin touching,such as sexual contact

Scabies mites, known scientifically as Sarcoptes scabies var hominis, are microscopic parasites that burrow into the top layer of a person's skin. Here, they lay their eggs and cause intense itching. From my own personal experience and after having this scabies attack, i can tell you that the mites tend to prefer warm places, such as skin folds and the genital areas. On the penis and scrotum, they can lead to a crusted, blister-like rash. Developing. 

This can cause a rash that looks like tiny pimples around your Penis or scrotum.  The rash results from your body's allergic reaction to the mites on your skin. The intense itching can cause you to scratch excessively.  The itching can become worse at nighttime.

Like I mentioned earlier to you, the mites prefer warm locations, such as between folds of skin, and tend to infest body areas that include:

- the groin region

- the penis and scrotum 

- the thighs and buttocks

- the waist area

- under the breasts

- the skin between fingers and toes

How can you catch scabies infection on your Penis?

Scabies can be caught through contacts with an infected objects or person especially via sexual intercourse with an infected partner. This means that you can easily spread the infection if infected.

You can also catch scabies through contact with infected co thing and bedding, but this is less common. Please also note that scabies don't transfer from animal to humans - only through human-to-human contact.

Now this are the symptoms of scabies on the penis

You maybe asking what are the signs to know if yu have been infected or not. I was infected and wasn't aware until the itching become so intense before I rush to see a medical professional. When scabies infects you, the following are the signs you see first.

- intense itching that may worsen at night

- raised lines on the skin's

- crusty, blister-like sores

It may take between 4-6 weeks before you see this signs because skin-to-skin contact is how scabies spreads, the mites can move to other areas of the body that come into prolonged contact with the penis. You may also notice symptoms on your thighs, hands, or buttocks. 

How to treat itchy penis infection by scabies

So how do you treat or get rid of scabies on your Penis? First and foremost, you need to visit a doctor to confirm that the problem is indeed a scabies infection. Once diagnosed,  the doctor will prescribed a treatment using a pesticide called scabicide,which is formulated to attack and treat scabies on the penis. In addition,  you will need to clean your entire household.

You may also apply some steroid cream to help relieve itching and swelling. Antifungal and antibacterial creams or lotions such as epiderm, Acenaway, Skineal or Aquasulf are highly recommended. Lastly, it is also important to avoid sex until the mites have completely disappeared. Doctors will usually recommend treating any recent sexual partners or anyone with whom the person has had prolonged close contact.
